In 2011 Helen was awarded her NVQ Level 2 in Animal Care through the College of Animal Welfare (CAW)

Helen is a Breed Show Judge & a Qualified Kennel Club Good Citizens Scheme Assessor.

Helen was born on the Isle of Wight and raised in Portsmouth.  She returned in 1989 to raise her daughter Sami who was born in 1990.  Helen has had a love of all animals since she was very young and has shared her life with many types including: horses, dogs, cats, gerbils, different birds, fish, tortoises, terrapins, rabbits and guinea pigs.  She has whelped and raised puppies and kittens, plus rabbits, gerbils and budgies - see the page with our animal photos.

Helen has competed at obedience, agility and breed showing.  Reaching Best of Breed with her Malinois Vienna at Crufts 2009, including winning the bitch Challenge Certificate.  Vienna is now a Champion - see Vienna Crufts 2009 Best of Breed page and our Trophy Cabinet page

In December 2015, Helen started attending Kennel Club Rally shows and at present has 4 of her dogs trained for it. Daisy and Pixie are working Levels 3 & 4, Tempie is working L2 & 3, Fay is working L1 & 2.  Helen teaches Rally to a growing group of enthusiastic people at Havenstreet Community Centre.

Sami was born and raised on the Isle of Wight.  She has great affinity with animals and has been brought up with rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, fish, tortoises, dogs and cats.

Sami attended Isle of Wight schools and the College and was also home educated by her mum, Helen.  At the Isle of Wight College, Sami earned distinction in Photography as well as completing and passing her Art and Design course.

In 2006 Sami attended Sparsholt College, for 2 years, where she gained her National Diploma in Horse Management. 

In 2008 Sami joined CALM Dog Training & Pet Services as a joint partner/owner. 

In 2011 Sami was awarded her NVQ Level 3 in Animal Care, through the College of Animal Welfare (CAW)
