  Training Techniques

Only reward based training techniques are used

Reward based training is the modern approach to dog training and has a proven track record in all aspects of dog training, from basic obedience to more complicated training for competitions and TV work

Rewards can be either tidbits, toys (such as a ball) or affection and praise, depending on your dogs preference, they can even receive a mixture of rewards

Rewards are reduced in time, but we believe that they should not be stopped permanently.  This can only lead to a dog that doesnt want to work so eagerly.  How often do you hear a dogs owner lamenting how their dog 'used' to come back every time when they were puppys, but doesn't now?

Rewarding good behaviour at the right time, produces the best results

               Show Handling Training Available

Structured Training

The training is structured to you and your dogs needs.  We believe that although there are many good training ideas out there, not all of them will suit your dog, so we are prepared to alter the training around you and your dog and not stick to one method.  However, consistency is the key to any training and we hope that you will give the techniques a chance to work before chopping and changing

You will receive relevent notes on how to train your dog.  Please dont pass these around to your doggy friends as the notes are specific to your requirements and may not be suitable for others to train by.  For example you couldnt train a particularly nervous dog the same way as a boisterous happy-go-lucky dog

We can train your dog for you

Dont have time to train your dog?

Are physically unable to train your dog?

Or finding it difficult to train your dog?

There are many reasons why people decide to have their dog trained professionally, but whatever the reason we can help

Your dog will remain at your home and we will collect him/her as often as agreed, to train.  Alternatively, if you are going on holiday and we are petsitting your dog & home or he/she is boarding at kennels and we have the Boarding Kennels agreement, you could come back to a better behaved dog, as we can train him/her whilst you are away

Many people are wary of others training their dog as they dont believe he/she will respond to their owners.  Once your dog has completed the training, we will spend time going through the training with you on how to command your dog and how to continue with its training

Basic obedience training - £20 per hr, minimum booking x 2 sessions

Show handling training - £20 per hr, minimum booking x 2 sessions

Behavioural modification training - £30 per hr, minimum booking x 3 sessions

All the above incur costs, if outside a 5 mile radius of East Cowes, IOW

Costs include mileage @40p per mile round trip and ferry costs if off the IOW and in some cases, might incur hall hire costs
